Back Home

We arrived back home yesterday, after four long days of driving from the Tetons to Kingsport. In the month we were gone, we (Alan) drove about 5,500 miles, much of it through astonishingly beautiful places. We took hundreds of pictures, which I will distill down into something manageable for this blog later on.

Loved talking to you two on the phone and hearing about your trip. I hope more stories will follow.

Saw the photo of the petrified tree section. Nice colorful log, from above it actually looks like a turtle, and I thought that it might be a petrified turtle. Is there such a thing?

I assume that you were looking at the pictures of our trip to Arizona and Utah from last October. I looked at the picture, and it does sort of look like a turtle. However, I have no idea if there is such a thing as a petrified turtle. The park service called it a petrified log.
