Holiday Greetings 2020

Alan and I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season. Cherish your loved ones and stay as safe as possible.  That is what we are doing.

Shelby loves sleeping and hiding under the tree.

Our old tree had lights that no longer worked,
so we had to buy a new one.
We waited so late that the only decent one
that was left was a nine foot tree.
Luckily, our den has high ceilings.
Alan had to use a ladder to do the topper
and the higher decorations.

We always love hanging our decorations. Whenever we travel, we get a special ornament to remember the trip.  We have also received lovely ones as gifts and inherited ones from Alan's family. So decorating the tree is a time of happy remembrance.

We got this on our honeymoon.  It says 1992 on it.

Great gift from Charlotte and Harry

We got this at Acadia National Park, on our last big trailer trip.

Susie and Ed got us these beautiful glass icicles
when they were on their honeymoon in Germany.
Round ornament is one of many lovely ones
we have gotten from Charlotte and Harry.

Alan's mom (Frances) made this for him.
She did beautiful needlework.

Wonderful door hanging Frances made.

Stocking Frances made for Alan when he was a child.
She used cookie cutters for the designs.

We plan to take our trailer to Huntsville for a week over Christmas, as we did last year.  That way we can social distance and take our kitty with us. We will be at Monte Sano State Park, where we have been several times.  We got a site near a nice pavilion with a fireplace.  Because of Covid, we will only be interacting indoors with people who have tested negative recently or quarantined appropriately.  All others will be seen outdoors, probably by the fireplace at the pavilion.  That means no big cookie baking parties this year, but that will be fine.   We want to be alive to resume the tradition next year!!

Treasure the ones you love, and remember with joy the happy days you had with those that are now gone.

Alan's dad always loved Christmas decorations.
