Travel suggestions?

Alan and I will be having our 30th anniversary May 29. Since travel restrictions from Covid seem to be lifting somewhat, we are thinking about doing a major trip of some sort the end of May and beginning of June. We are interested in flying somewhere we haven't been and doing a tour, either with a group or on our own.  We weren't able to do anything for our 25th anniversary because Alan was in the hospital, so I am excited about doing something special this time.  We've been to Germany; I have been to Thailand; we did a Caribbean cruise. I don't want to go to China. I know that a lot of you have been to great places you would like to recommend and/or you have used tour companies you like.  So I would appreciate any thoughts you may have on what you think would be fun to do.  We are thinking of being gone for about two weeks, if possible.  A major hurdle to the trip was solved recently when we found a responsible person to house/cat sit.

Hope to get your thoughts soon! Plan to talk to travel agent tomorrow to get them working on it too.

Iceland! Look at Nordic Visitor for a great trip. Fly Iceland Air out of DC or Atlanta.

1. Ireland - Dublin and Shannon are the major air hubs; and they speak English, driving is on left hand side though. Not too much further than Iceland but not in Continental Europe, now with the upheaval in Ukraine. Plenty of nice B&B's and pubs.

2. Azores/Madeira - part of Portugal & EU but English spoken widely, only ~3 1/2 hours from Boston. A 50's or 60's experience with 2021 infrastructure.

3. Newfoundland - I did a Globus tour there in 2019 from west side at Corner Brook (airport @ Deer Lake) to St. John's on East side (the other major apt). Also rented a car for 3 cays on each end to see things that were not included on tour. It's a big island and takes time to get from one side to the other on the only cross island highway (Trans Canada). Not many flights to Deer Lake from elsewhere and arrive/depart mostly beginning or end of day. St. John's a bit better but convenient departure is very early since they are 1 1/2 hours ahead of ET. I would try to avoid connections in Toronto as it is seemingly inefficient and very crowded.

4. Maritimes - Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and/or Prince Edward Island (PEI). NS and PEI were our favorites (we drove there instead of flying, about 3 full days to NB).

Wow! Thanks to you both for your suggestions!
We are hoping to get a last-minute tour or flight when it gets closer to our anniversary date--choosing a place that has better Covid rates at that time. That's why we are casting a large net of possibilities. Lots of places are still on the US "don't go there" list.
