March 4, 2019

Very cold and rainy.  It froze last night, so the daffodils that are usually so beautiful are face down.  I didn't go out and try to rescue them in the rain yesterday.

Interior of house in chaos due to the painting, which is supposed to be finished in a day or two.  Realtor said that everything except upstairs bedrooms and bath should be grey with white trim, so we are working on that.  It will look a lot better!

Lots of boxes and stuff headed to storage or Goodwill
We have to declutter to stage house for showing.

Shelby has to be banished to my office to keep her out of the wet paint.  We don't want a grey and white kitty!  At first, she didn't like it, but I have been staying with her and working on Imagination Library stuff, so she is fine now.

For the first day, she patiently waited at the door, hoping to be released.

Alan moved her kitty condo up here, so now she is happy.

We expect to have our present house on the market in a few weeks.  (There are other fix-up things to do, yet.)  In the meantime, we are having fun looking at possible houses in Johnson City.  We get a feed from Zillow or our realtor almost every day.  So far, we've driven by several but didn't like them well enough to see more. This will be the first house that Alan and I have bought together, and it will probably be our last house, too.  Luckily, we seem to agree completely on what we want, so there are no arguments and mixed messages like you see on HG TV.  This is an exciting time for us.

One other thing we've found most important is knowing what the neighbors are like--get one who is a noisy louse, or with kids with loud radios that boom in your living room and having a nice house otherwise gets blown out the window. Be sure if you can to check on what the neighbors of the place are like!

Barking dogs can be a problem, especially if it is constant.
