Cookie Baking and Christmas in Huntsville: December 21 - 27, 2019

We had a wonderful time in Huntsville with Alan's sisters and families.  The cookie baking was combined with Christmas this time, so we spent a week there.  Alan wanted to bring Shelby, so we brought the trailer and stayed at Monte Sano State Park, which is in Huntsville.  Really lovely park, only a few miles from where Charlotte and Harry live.  Shelby has finally gotten used to traveling in the truck.  Both going and coming, she just hid under the driver's seat and slept the whole way.

These pix focus a lot on the cutest of the crew:  Brian and Amy's children: Logan and Brooke. Sorry to those many other folks who were there but I didn't get in a pic for this blog.

Cookie baking was first, and fun as usual.  Everyone dutifully showed up with their special aprons and hats.

Logan intently placed the red hots on pressed cookies.

Andrew did well with the cookie press, even making camels!

Amy's mom Wendy and Susie helped.
Alan goofed off and didn't make cookies.
Here he is trying to push Charlotte off the couch.
She is holding Wendy's dog.

Dirty Santa was the highlighted activity on the 23rd, the only day that most folks could be there.
Ed got the best Dirty Santa gift--a Pooping Pooches
calendar and a book:

How to Train Your Cat on Gun Safety
After Dirty Santa, we sang Christmas songs.
each person jingled bells.

The gift exchange was great:

Brooke got a tutu, as well as MANY other things

Brooke is wearing a sweater that Alan's mom made.

Charlotte tries to guess what she is getting.
Logan loved playing in all the tissue paper.

A huge thanks to Charlotte who orchestrated everything for the week we were there, cooking/planning many meals, organizing the cookie baking, as well as all the other things that made this such a fantastic time.  We love you and appreciate you immensely!!
