Happy Easter 2020

Our Easter decorations

Wishing you joy and safety on this Easter Sunday! Alan still has his childhood Easter basket and Easter toys, which are so much fun to get out each year.  We also have beautiful decorated eggs that his mother brought back from Prague.  Not sure if the corn-shuck hen came from there or not, but it was something we got from Frances, also.  Alan was determined that we have chocolate bunnies, so he braved a trip to Walgreens (in mask and gloves) to get them.  We also got a wonderful ham from Pratt's barbeque in Kingsport, so will enjoy it today and for many more days, also.

Our yard continues to be lovely, with many blooming flowers:

Iris on hill above house

Redbud and dogwood, as seen through window in sunroom
Below is the weeping cherry in front yard that was so beautiful.

We continue to be extremely careful.  The only time I've left the house/yard is for essential trips to the grocery store every two weeks. A good friend made us some wonderful face masks with kitty fabric, and we have disposable vinyl gloves that we wear. (Their former use was for emptying the sewage tank in the trailer.) I spend lots of time working in the yard, weeding, mulching, planting, as well as trying to figure out what to eat.  Alan binge watches lots of things on his Kindle.  We've both recently started watching "The Americans."  Very interesting, and it should last us a while, since there are six seasons!

We do lots of things to stay in touch with folks. Did a Skype happy hour with nephew Paul Bliese and wife Marta that was a lot of fun.  Alan has done Zoom with a couple of music friends.  We do video calls with Alan's sisters a lot.  I call my sister Rosemary for long talks every week now. We could do any of those with folks who would like to chat and see us during this time of social distancing.  Just let us know, and we will make it happen!  It's fun to see all the home-done hairdos!  Alan cut my bangs after watching a U Tube video on how to do it, and they turned out pretty good.

Our county is now up to 39 cases, climbing a few every couple of days, so we haven't reached our peak.  Expect that we will be continuing in this mode for many more weeks.  Please be safe.  We love you!!

I Trust each Easter you buy another chocolate rabbit so Alan can bite the ears off it! (chuckle)
