Rock Creek Recreation Area, June 4 - 11, 2020

We spent a great week at Rock Creek Recreation Area, near Erwin, TN while the interior of our house was being painted.  It allowed us to social distance from the painters and have a nice time away from home at a nearby lovely area.

Not far from the campground was the Unaka Mountain Road, which goes to two beautiful places, Beauty Spot and the Unaka Mountain Overlook.  The Appalachian Trail goes over Beauty Spot, so we did a nice day hike on the AT, where there were lovely spring flowers.

The weather was nice, so we could have windows open.
Shelby enjoyed looking at the scenery, too.
She isn't allowed to go out after she was a bad kitty,

escaped from her halter, and ran off into the woods in the Smokies.

Our really nice wooded site, #13

Our friend Kevin and his daughter Emily were at the site next to us, which was great.  One evening another music friend joined us for singing and strumming around the campfire.  Alan has a small drum kit of sorts that he uses for these impromptu get-togethers, which is fun.  Emily did a spirited rendition of "The Cat Came Back," which we all enjoyed immensely.  (Notice her cat ears.)

We were really happy with the job that the painters did on the interior of our house.  I will do more on that later.  We moved into our house on June 10 of last year, so major work on the house is now complete, almost exactly a year later.
