Alan and I with nephew Paul Bliese family, my brother Loren and wife Edith
We had a great time in Washington DC at Thanksgiving. It was fantastic to spend time with my nephew Paul's family and my brother and his wife. We also visited with and had dinner with my friend Sue. She and I have been close friends for over 40 years. It was wonderful to see her again.
Nephew Andy with girlfriend Sarah
The Gamble family has a tradition to give each person a special Christmas hat to wear. Since this was Sarah's first visit here for Christmas, she got "hatted."
We had a delightful Christmas with the Gamble clan. We had everyone at our house for Christmas Eve leg of lamb dinner, as usual. Since the weather was mild, we put Christmas lights on the pergola over the deck and had the firepit going on the deck. It was fun to hang out on the deck around the fire. We forgot to take a picture of it, though. On Christmas Day, we had the traditional dinner and Nasty Santa gift exchange at Bill and Anna's. It was a special treat to see Anna's granddaughter Rachel and her husband Ismael, who were here visiting from Turkey.
I am finally almost recovered from a month-long bout with bronchitis. I was really sick! I basically was in bed from right after we got back from Thanksgiving until about a week before Christmas. I still have a cough and am not completely recovered.
I didn't send Christmas cards to people who get this blog, so this is my personal wish to you for a most wonderful holiday season!

Havent' seen Paul and Marta for ages... but Wow! Looks like the kids are really growing. Interesting too--Loren looks a lot older than Art even though the ages are the other way around. Good picture of the gang. Thanks! (Looked like nephew Andy's Sarah might not have been overwhelmingly happy with the hat! Her expression's got sort of a 'Mona Lisa' smile--one you can't make heads or tails of!)
