Tygart Lake State Park, WV: September 18 - 21

Since there wasn't a Bliese family reunion going on this year, my sister Rosemary and I decided to have a "sisters" retreat at a place between my home in Tenn. and hers in Pittsburgh.  We met at Tygart Lake State Park, near Grafton, WV.  We stayed in the lodge, enjoying the small park and surrounding sights.  It was wonderful spending relaxed time just being with Rosie.

Tygart Lake is a small man-made lake in a picturesque setting.
This gazebo was right outside of our window.
We sat in it in the evening, enjoying a glass of wine and good conversation.
This is the back of the restaurant/TV lounge area.
We had dinner here the first night; then, the restaurant unexpectedly closed.
Luckily, we had brought food for breakfasts and lunches.
For dinners after that, we explored the cuisine in the little coal mining community of Grafton.

One day we went to nearby Valley Falls State Park, which has a really lovely cascading set of waterfalls.

Alan and I will be heading to the Florida panhandle via Birmingham October 26 - November 6.  We will be taking the trailer to Grayton Beach State Park, between Fort Walton Beach and Laguna Beach. It will be good to get away and relax. Quote that made us decide to go there: Grayton Beach consistently ranks among the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the United States.
