Most of you are probably familiar with the artist Dale Chihuly, who does incredible blown glass sculpture. The Biltmore house in Asheville, NC has an amazing exhibit of his works that Alan, Susie, and I visited recently. It was called Chihuly Nights. You could see the sculpture both at night, when it was beautifully illuminated, and in the day time, also, with one ticket. It was a magical experience. I am only going to share a selection of the lovely pieces for you to enjoy.
We got there about dusk, so were able to watch as the light faded.

The detail when you looked into the sculptures was amazing. |

The reflection in the water was lovely. See other sculpture in background in the Italian gardens. |

The picture doesn't do this justice. It looks gorgeous. |

Wonderful to study from all sides |

Some things were better in daylight the next day, but not many:

This installation was in a series along a wall |

The gardens were planted with colors of the sculpture in that garden. |
The exhibit goes until October 7. I heartily recommend it. I also recommend having a glass of wine or champagne as you stroll through the gardens, or sit in a lovely area of the conservatory, as we did. More info at biltmore.com/chihuly

After seeing his work here in Pittsburgh, and these pictures, one wonders what he will come up with next!
